„Romania and the European HPC endeavour: scientific and economic level connections”.

The Authority for Digitalization of Romania, in partnership with the Technical University of ClujNapoca, is implementing the project „Strategic framework for the adoption and use of innovative technologies in the public administration 2021 – 2027 – solutions for improving the activity”,cofinanced from the European Social Fund by means of the Operational Program for Improving the Administrative Capacity.

Within the context of this project, the two partners organize on February 3rd, in cooperation with The
National Institute for Research & Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest, the on-line workshop „Romania and the European HPC endeavour: scientific and economic level connections”. This event aims to address the academia, the research and development community, the economic environment, public authorities and experts interested in the opportunities raised by connecting Romania to the cutting-edge High Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure which is being established right now inside the European Union.

This action is part of a larger process started in the aforementioned project dedicated to drafting a set of national strategic recommendations that will support Romania’s efforts of integrating into the European initiatives in the field of Open Science and High Performance Computing.

The workshop on February 3rd intends to improve the knowledge regarding the HPC infrastructure and
the reseach and development projects this infrastructure is going to suport (see the agenda below).
The discussions will help in indentifying the national and European trends in the HPC-related fields,
from economic as well asresearch perspective, and also of the potential directions Romania can follow
in science and technology.
